The golden mean is what unites both halves. We, therefore, present the best smartphones with a display between 5 and 5.5 inches.

In addition, the display is covered with the ultra-modern Ceramic Shield and can therefore withstand the odd drop.
The device is powered by the Apple A15 Bionic, a fast six-core processor with 5G modem. Since this is extremely efficient, a battery capacity of just 2227 mAh is enough to keep the phone running for a day. Speaking of battery: Like its predecessor, the iPhone 13 mini can also be charged wirelessly via Magsafe.
Do you attach great importance to a top lens system in your smartphones? Then you’ll be delighted with this handy Apple model. The device is equipped with a great dual cam, thanks to which you can take crisp, sharp photos in all lighting conditions.

The silver medal in the ranking of the best 5.5-inch phones goes to the OnePlus 5. The upper-class smartphone shines with its strong performance, which it owes to its tireless processor. Here, OnePlus has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, a solid octa-core chip that clocks at up to 2.45 GHz and gets any of your apps running effortlessly.
With a screen diagonal of 5.5 inches and a weight of 153 grams, the all-rounder from China also fits wonderfully in the hand. However, the fact that the device is so light is only partly surprising, because OnePlus has equipped its former flagship with a relatively small 3300 mAh battery. However, it lasts a good eleven hours even with intensive use – a great value.

The glass back also feels very good in the hand and was specially processed for this purpose. Overall, it is more than visually successful.
The battery could be a bit longer-lasting, but Google guarantees the fastest updates for three years. The camera is a plus point, even if the Pixel 3 only has one lens. However, the interaction with the software has been optimised and artificial intelligence will impress you greatly. As far as performance is concerned, the Snapdragon 845 ensures impeccable performance.
6. Google Pixel 2
Google can also claim to have launched an exorbitantly good smartphone on the market. Although the Pixel 2 only comes with a 5-inch FullHD display, it can compensate for this small weakness with other advantages. For example, there is the incredibly good camera, which was voted test winner by DxOMark.
In addition, the Google Pixel 2 is incredibly fast, has a good battery and the aforementioned display offers OLED technology and 443 PPI. Another decisive factor is the pure Android and the fast updates – because, with Google, you are of course directly at the source.

The iPhone 8 Plus is currently unbeatable when it comes to pure speed. Apple has also improved the dual camera. We like the shooting mode, which allows 240 frames per second in Full HD. The iPhone 8 Plus is an absolutely rounded story and, as usual with Apple, hardware and software mesh perfectly.

The 5.5-inch LCD display resolves in QHD, it is visually very nice to look at despite quite wide edges, the IP67 certification is also included and the Snapdragon 835 is absolutely high-end – transfer rates of one gigabit are even possible. Samsung is and remains the most popular manufacturer around the world and also looks very good worldwide in terms of sales figures. Yes, with the Galaxy S8, the successor to the S7 is already available, but Samsung has still done everything right with the 5.1-inch device. If you look at the latest smartphones, the edges of the P10 are of course noticeable. But that’s something to get over. The 5.5-inch display has a QHD resolution, is extremely bright and leaves nothing to be desired.
The focus of the Huawei P10 Plus is also on the camera, which was developed in a Leica collaboration.
