Instagram Introduces A Tool To Schedule IG Live, Here’s How To Do That!

For content creators on Instagram, IG lives are a great way to get closer to their followers. Instagram knows this, which is why it has now created a tool that allows creators to schedule live lives and create a buzz with their followers. In this guide, we’ll help you schedule Instagram live streams and broadcasts, and engage your followers more effectively.

Live streams can be scheduled up to 90 days in advance; a time that creators can use to promote the live stream, as followers will receive notifications when the broadcast begins.

In addition, the platform plans to launch a practice mode where creators will be able to perform preparatory tests for the broadcast, where followers can participate. This option, according to Instagram, has been highly requested by creators, and it is not surprising as it makes it easier to detect faults, for example in the sound, or to test the lighting and connection.

Live scheduling is already available in many regions and is expected to be available in all but if it’s not yet your case, it probably will be very soon. So if you’re a content creator on Instagram, you can now start scheduling and promoting your lives in both your stories and feed.

Live scheduling was already available on other platforms.

This new Instagram feature comes a little late compared to other platforms such as Facebook, TikTok or YouTube where you could already do this kind of action.

However, that doesn’t mean that its arrival is unnecessary, quite the opposite, as the fact of performing live at one moment to another, without prior notice, forced many creators to improvise and their followers to miss the transmission, which will no longer happen as the creators will be able to schedule the live and their followers can set a reminder so they don’t miss the event.

How to schedule Instagram Live

As a content creator, you know how complicated it can be to organise a live stream and get the promotion you need to make it a success. As we’ve already told you, Instagram’s new scheduling tool will make it much easier, so below I’ll explain how to schedule live streams on Instagram.

  1. To start, you have to press the + icon located at the top right of the homepage, as you know it’s the icon to create content.
  2. Then you choose the type of content, which in this case is Live.
  3. On the screen, you will be shown the options of title and schedule. As is the case, choose the schedule.
  4. Instagram will open a new screen where you must enter the title of the live broadcast and the date on which you are going to do it.
  5. Once you have completed this step, choose the option to Schedule live video.
  6. Finally, you have the option to share the live programme, which you can do at once or leave for later.

If once you have scheduled your live broadcast, you wish to change the date or name, you can go back to the “schedule” option, press the three horizontal dots next to the scheduled live broadcast and in the window that appears on the screen choose “Edit”. You can also cancel the live video broadcast, add a new live schedule or share as a post in the feed so that your followers know when you are going to broadcast.

Of course, from the user profile option, you can also schedule your live feeds by pressing the same plus sign at the top right of the screen. Next, a list of content you can create will be displayed, so choose the option to broadcast live. From here on following the steps I mentioned in the list above.

Other Instagram releases

In addition to the launch of the new Instagram live scheduling tool, the social network has also added other tools and features including the departure of IGTV and the arrival of Instagram Videos as its replacement, as well as:

#Instagram platform glitch notice

Instagram told its users that the platform will notify them when it is down or if it is experiencing technical problems.

The form of notification will be through notifications in the activity section of the system. There Instagram will tell users which specific tool on the platform has failed or if the problem is general. However, Instagram also communicated that this notification will not always be sent, but will be communicated in cases where users may be confused about what is happening and require information.

The incorporation of this function comes because during the last few weeks, Instagram as well as other platforms belonging to Facebook, has presented failures that have left them out even for hours.

#Account status

Another tool that has been implemented by Instagram recently is the “Account Status” where, according to the App, you will be able to get information about how community guidelines affect your account on the platform.

This is a feature that lets you know what kind of content you can post on the network, what might happen if you post banned content and what you can do if any of your posts have violated the platform’s policies. It also shows you the steps to take when your post has been removed.

You can view the status of your account whenever you want. To do so, just go to your profile, go to the top-right menu and click on the “Settings” option. Then, click on “Account” and finally choose “Account status“.

As a content creator, you should know that both the incorporation of the tool for scheduling live streams and the other features that Facebook has added to its application only seeks to facilitate the possibilities of creation for its members, but more especially for those who work as content creators within the platform and have a community.

If you are one of them, don’t forget to make the most of these tools.
