How to Speed up Redmi Note 4
1. Reduce Animations
The Animations flow around the interface and grasp certainly a good amount of processing power. Thus, if we limit that part somehow, that will relief processor and RAM. That power can be used to handle real-time programs.
That makes your phone run faster. And somewhat doing this brings better battery life. So, there are multiple benefits of reducing the extent and duration of Animations on Redmi Note 4 smartphone.
Doing this would make the user interface work fast. Since the duration and extent of Animations would be lower, the responsiveness improves. Actions are processed quickly.
To access the Animations settings, first, you’ll have to activate the Developer Options on your phone.
That’s a big task either. Follow the below steps to enable this feature on your phone:
Enable Developer Options on Redmi Note 4
- Open the Settings menu on your phone.
- Scroll down to locate About phone and tap on it.
- Now locate the MIUI version and tap 7 times on it.
- This will activate the Developer Options.
Now, you can access the Developer Options through Settings anytime you want. That’s it, we are all set to optimize your phone.
Follow the below steps to customize the animation on your phone:
- Open the Developer Options.
- Now, scroll down to locate “Windows Animation Scale”, “Transition Animation scale” and “Animator duration scale”:
- Now change the default value of each entity to 0.5X.
- Exit the menu, and restart your phone.
Now observe your phone. This should make actions quicker. Overall, you’ll notice a bump in the performance.
2. Set the background processes limits
To make your user interface and experience smoother a bit more, you can use this trick. Basically, limiting the background processes will help to maintain smoothness and performance.
Again, this setting is available within the Developer Options. Once you set the limit, a certain number of background processes will run in the background. Therefore, it saves processing power and memory for real-time needs.
Thus, you get better performance on Redmi Note 4.
However, there is one disadvantage. Sometimes you might experience that other applications get closed while you work on another application.
If you find it disturbing, then we recommend you keep OFF this thing.
Here are the required instructions to set the background processes limit:
- Open the Developer Options menu.
- Now, locate “Background processes limit” and tap on it.
- Then, select At most 4 processes.
- Exit this menu and reboot your phone.
As soon as you start using your phone, you’ll notice the smoothness. Since fewer applications run in the background, that helps your phone outcome better performance.
3. Clear cache memory
If you’re chasing with lags, freezes, and unusual behavior along with a dip in performance, then most probably this could have been caused by the cache memory.
The cache memory keeps on accumulating while we use our smartphone. Each time we use an application, it creates some temporary files and information. Such files and data keep on accumulating with the phone’s storage.
And eventually, interfere with the native functions of the phone. Thus, we face performance and other related issues.
Clearing the cache memory should remove such bugs and resolve issues. It is highly recommended that to clear cache memory of the phone at least once a month.
That will keep your phone running smoothly all the time along.
Do remember one thing, clearing cache memory will wipe the cache files and data related to apps and programs. And that wipes out login information, app/game progress and so on.
Therefore, we recommend you to backup all important files and apps/games with their data.
Follow the below instructions to clear cache on Redmi Note 4 to improve performance:
- Turn OFF your phone using the Power Off button.
- Now, reboot into the recovery mode:
- Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons for a few seconds.
- Release both the buttons once the boot menu appears on the screen. Now, use the Volume button to navigate to the recovery mode and use the Power button to select it.
- You should land to recovery mode.
- Under the recovery mode, select Wipe Cache Partition and perform this action.
- Exit the recovery mode — tap on reboot system now.
Clearing the cache memory removes lags, bugs, and other performance related issues. Going forward, you shouldn’t experience those existing issues.
Those should have been removed. Now, you must experience better performance on your Redmi Note 4.
If you don’t see any improvements, then it is the time you perform a factory reset.
4. Perform a factory reset
If none of the methods have worked for you, then probably you should go for a factory reset. Performing a factory reset will wipe all the third-party applications, downloaded stuff, and temporary files.
In simple words, it will turn your phone into a factory fresh piece. You should know that will wipe out your phone completely. You should backup all the important stuff before you go any further.
That will be a safer way to proceed. A backup is highly recommended.
In order to perform a factory reset, we’ll use the recovery mode. Just like we did in the above method. Follow the below instructions to factory reset the Redmi Note 4:
- Turn OFF your phone.
- Boot into the recovery mode — we have already outlined the required steps above.
- Under the recovery mode, select and perform wipe data/factory reset option and perform this action.
- Exit the mode.
That’s it. You’ve optimized your phone in the best manner.
Applying these troubleshooting methods should remove existing bugs and performance related issues. All these methods are completely safe and do impact the warranty.
These are the methods to speed up Redmi Note 4. We hope that our readers would find them useful. Don’t forget to share your experience. If you’ve an any better tip, please share with us. We will update our post.
