I have told two times before here and here leaving comments on other blogs is an easy way more than great to promote your blog. And I have noticed many new bloggers are depending too much on comments for their blog promotion but it is neither good nor healthy. Surely you can drag some attention of others visitors but you can not turn them into returning visitor. I am sure new bloggers do most frequently this job.
Top 10 signs of these bloggers
(1) They post very less only 1 post in two three days.
(2) These bloggers do not write long posts
(3) These bloggers do not write quality pots.
(4) They look for traffic driven blogs and leave there comments.
(5) Their comments has no quality
(6) They always try to leave comment first
(7) They always make stories to drag others’ attention.
(8) They want 10K visitors daily on their blog in next one months
(9) They want their wallet full of money in next two months.
(10) They want to become Daren Rowse or John Chow in next three months.
How your comments can kill your blog?
(1) If you comment most frequently on many blogs then sure it will take time because if you leave comments only by reading headline of the post then you can not leave a good comment and your comment can not drag others’ attention.
(2) If you leave all the day comments on other blogs you will lose your own creativity and you would not be able to give time for your own blog to write some posts.
(3) If you leave very frequently comments everyday on many blogs specially on massive traffic driving blogs, then you will be well known as one of top spammer in coming months.
(4) If any real reader will read your comment, Sure he will visit your blog and if somewhere he will read your comment again he will visit your blog again and find same post, so if this will happen more than three time than sure you will lose a visitor if he has not subscribed you, thanks to CommentLuv.
(5) You will leave comments on every post of other small blogger and other small blogger will comment on your each post, and you will make a group of this kind but you could never get any extra comments or real comments by a real reader.
(6) Simply commenter think if other visitors see many comments on my blog they will become regular reader but getting so many comments is not the measurement of your blog’s success, now you would be thinking “so why top bloggers are getting hundreds of comments everyday?” I have one answer they are top bloggers.

I blog daily and have seen most of what you mention happen so much. People comment all day and start to neglect their own blogs. I also see so many people that comment just to get traffic or a backlink.
On the other hand I see a lot of good quality comments too. So it’s a toss up really on what your preference is. If your blog is suffering from blog commenting it might be time too take a break.

Hello Brian actually I am not receiving so many spam comments, I always say leaving comments is a good idea to promote your blog and make relation with other bloggers but some of bloggers I have noticed they are much dependent on comments so this post is specially for them and one more thing I will say, I have seen many commenter but on behalf of my blogs comments I will say you the best commenter.
Conversely I find it’s a struggle at the beginning as a blogger when you write all this great material, but your blog is a drop of water in an ocean because no one will ever find it unless you adopt these comment back linking strategies. It’s a good feeling to know people are reading your thoughts.

Hello Vicster, you are right, I am agree with your points, this post is only for them who think they can promote their blog with comment concept but I am sure this is not going to help them in longer time.
Well I try to comment when I can. You blog about a lot of stuff I just cannot comment on seeing I have no experience.

You have hit the nail on the head Madhav. Either spare time for your blog or spend it looking for ways to promote it in a short period of time. You can do only either of the two.
