After reading one post from Robert Scoble on massive unfollowing on Twitter and other from Louis Gray on similar subject. I decided to write on standards and practice of following and unollowing on Twitter.

These days a new trend is on track, users on Twitter starting their inning on Twitter again with a fresh start, they are unfollowing everyone on Twitter. I this is not users fault, but these are developers who made these killer apps, and many users could not control themselves to try it.

But wait a minute, if you are making followers on Twitter, it takes a long time if you are not a celebrity of your industry. I have more than 2200 followers and it took me more than 10 months.

You got too many DMs and unfollowed everyone, it is some kind of permanent solution of a temporary problem.

May be you want to stand out from crowd in mean time.

Many people are happy because more than 200 people are following them and they follow only 20, but I don’t think they are social people.

You were using some kind of auto follow app till last date and after you decided to unfollow everyone, I think autofollow without spam is impossible. Many people ufollowed me too by using some app ( one app from Jesse Stay of Socialtoo).

I am not going to advice anyone but one should declare his policy of unfollowing people on Twitter and about future practice as Robert Scoble did.

And how you will do with your very fresh start on Twitter after unfollowing almost every follower. Perhaps you will not followback who will follow you, or you will look for your cousin or uncle?
