Top 5 Priorities for Bloggers in 2013

Every year comes with new priorities; these priories originating from latest technology trends and new web standards. For bloggers these priorities will prove helpful in 2013 and help them to get more out of their blogs. For bloggers in 2013 this post is not less than a gift from TechShali.

(1) Using Responsive Web Design

This year responsive design should be adapted by most of the professional bloggers. Everyday new tablet and smart phone users are growing and accessing sites on mobile devices. So these users need some native solution. One design should be made for all the devices and dimensions. It is only possible if the design is responsive so it is sized automatically according to the browser’s screen resolution on the device.

(2) Monetizing Mobile Visitors

Some aware bloggers have managed to optimize their blogs for visitors via a mobile device but still they are ignorant about monetizing mobile visits. If your 5% visits are from mobile devices and you did nothing then you are losing money. At the end of 2013 mobile visits to your blog will grow and it may reach up to 25%.

(3) Using Simple Web Design

In 2013 only simple designs will survive. Blogs with so many features will under perform, pages with full of ads, stuffed with links and tags and unrelated content will get less importance. Blogs with simple colors, simple navigation, and readable fonts with fewer ads will win organic traffic and will make strong relation between a blog and a blog reader.

(4) Focusing on Unique Content

In my opinion personal blogs with unique content are the best. In today’s time it is uneasy to stick with a niche. You will like to change your blog niche as diverting from online money-making to web marketing and from web marketing to blogging, from computer tips to web tips etc. All the bloggers should compose unique content with unique style. Large number of posts not going to help you, only number of quality posts going to help.

(5) Using Social Networking Sites more Seriously

Social media sites are new SEO tools and web marketing platform. If you were using Facebook for sharing status updates and keep in touch with friends and families, you were doing it wrong. You need to use Facebook to get in touch with your readers.

  1. I’ve found that the mobile community is becoming more and more important when it comes to business as well. Often individuals use their cell phones to look up where they are going simply because it is a quick transition over to turn by turn navigation. We have spent a considerable amount of time transitioning our tax preparation and CPA firm over to a mobile friendly format for this reason.
