Blogs are the new form of media that beats magazines and journals. However, more importantly, they are a very crucial tool for marketing advertisers as well as companies. When you own a blog, you have a single most important aim and that is to build your blog traffic. SEO techniques are one of the main things that contribute in this regard. Blog commenting is a huge part of SEO but only when used to the maximum advantage. Here are some tips to do it effectively.

Comment to build up conversation threads

This is the finest way of bringing attention towards your blog. Subscribe for threads and start up a conversation in your comments. It is obviously better if the conversation is related to your niche and even better if you are in the thread of some blog belonging to your niche. However, this is not mandatory. It is important to have a proper strategy and plan to choose proper blogs that you should comment on. Use RSS readers like Google Reader etc. for this purpose. It can be your regular thing. Just browse on the RSS reader to get updated results of quality blogs with follow links. Be a part of their RSS feed, start commenting and increase exposure to your own blog. I also add Google Reader browser extensions that show the number of unread feed items un-obstructively at the corner of my browser.

Range in on blogs that have significant backlinks

Blogs that already have a significant amount of backlinks are positively the best place to start your comments and backlink building. So, be on the lookout for this telltale sign when you choosing blogs to comment on.

Five comments a day – Definitely

The five comments a day rule will help you get results much faster. You have to be committed to SEO before you can reap the rewards. In this case, five comments a day is a tall order. You will have to gear up a big RSS feed. You can not comment on a single blog more than once in the same day but the comments will enhance your Technocrati profile at the end of the day and build your readership exponentially. Comments might seem slight but they are a definite and effective part of SEO for your blog, so don’t let up a chance on using them to the fullest.

Third Party comment systems are getting adopted as a concept these days. These comment systems provide better user experience and more options for commenting and managing comments on both end. Third party comment systems provide easy and better integration of authentication services. These systems are collection of useful tools and features that you may wish to get in comment section.

To integrate these comment systems on your blog you need to open an account on these sites, and install a plugin or copy and paste some code on your blog to work for you. These systems need an API to work.

What features include third party comment systems?
As a wordpress user you can see it if you go to add feature in comment section you will install wordpress plugins. But how many plugins will you install to get all the features you see on other blogs.

If you see ‘like’ on a blog, you will install a plugin for wordpress, if you want to add a vote system for comment you will install a plugin, if you want to add rating system you will install a plugin. (2) Intensedebate
Intensedebate is developed by Automattic the company behind wp.com, it is similar to Disqus in many ways. Features are also similar but Disqus is more popular. Reputation and comment voting system is popular in Intensedebate.

(3) Echo
Echo is also a feature rich comment system and being used on many of enterprise blogs. But this is not free. You will find many feature that I have discussed above.

(4) Livefyre
Livefyre is a new comment system that is in beta yet so you can use it for free as a beta tester. But it future it will be chargeable for large scale bloggers. But it can be free for small bloggers. As you can use Disqus is free but it provides premium features. Livefyre has some of next level features as check-in and some of other new features.

I have told two times before here and here leaving comments on other blogs is an easy way more than great to promote your blog. And I have noticed many new bloggers are depending too much on comments for their blog promotion but it is neither good nor healthy. Surely you can drag some attention of others visitors but you can not turn them into returning visitor. I am sure new bloggers do most frequently this job.
Top 10 signs of these bloggers
(1) They post very less only 1 post in two three days.
(2) These bloggers do not write long posts
(3) These bloggers do not write quality pots.
(4) They look for traffic driven blogs and leave there comments.
(5) Their comments has no quality
(6) They always try to leave comment first
(7) They always make stories to drag others’ attention.
(8) They want 10K visitors daily on their blog in next one months
(9) They want their wallet full of money in next two months.
(10) They want to become Daren Rowse or John Chow in next three months.

How your comments can kill your blog?
(1) If you comment most frequently on many blogs then sure it will take time because if you leave comments only by reading headline of the post then you can not leave a good comment and your comment can not drag others’ attention.
(2) If you leave all the day comments on other blogs you will lose your own creativity and you would not be able to give time for your own blog to write some posts.
(3) If you leave very frequently comments everyday on many blogs specially on massive traffic driving blogs, then you will be well known as one of top spammer in coming months.
(4) If any real reader will read your comment, Sure he will visit your blog and if somewhere he will read your comment again he will visit your blog again and find same post, so if this will happen more than three time than sure you will lose a visitor if he has not subscribed you, thanks to CommentLuv.

How Do You Treat Spam Comments?

I get everyday many new Spam comments, and problem with me is that I don’t know what to do with these Spam comments and how can I get rid of them. I hate spam so much but I am helpless on my blog. Only I can view Spam comments and delete.

Mostly spammars irritate me, they send everyday new Spam with fresh contents.
From last one week one spammar is rocking on my blog, he/she sends almost every two hour one new Spam comment, and everyday two days he/she changes comments style, So I knew spammars are also creative.

I never approve any spam, I am not 100% right but sometime I approve by locality or kind of post.

Spammars know it their comments are not going to approved but still they leave Spam comments do you wonder why?

I think they believe if I would not approve their comments but I will visit their links; when I started blogging sure I visited some of Spam links but now I never visit any of Spam link.

Some of Spam links left me in dilemma when I see a semi Spam comment.

If one people is not talking about my post any only leaving his Spam links and giving his service description I never approve.
Sometime people tell about their service in comment and leave their website link if the link is related to my content of post as if I missed to add some of services.

99% of Spam comments are about sex and Viagra.

I try to to block these spammars IP address but it is not effective at all.

When I started blogging, some of spam comments I got and I deleted all sapm comments on the spot but now I leave them in Spam box for automatically get deleted after a few days.

I think some of spammars use some kind of software to leave comment on my blog because I don’t think they always visit my blog to leave a Spam comment.

What To Care When Leaving Comments On Other Blogs?

Leaving comment on other blogs is a good way to promote your blog, but only leaving comment is not a good idea but carefully left comments works better. I everyday leave comments on some of blogs with my opinion and it works for me to get sure traffic. You should follow some of rules before leaving a comment on any blog. Many bloggers use “follow my links” plugin, so your comment will be crawled by search engines and get listed.

Blindly leaving comment won’t work for you.
Don’t say only ‘Hi’ OR ‘hello’.
Always leave comments on relevant blogs, I mean what type of content you write on your blog.
Always leave comments on new posts and if more than 200 people already have commented you do not have much more there, it is better not to comment.
Your comment should be related to post, you are commenting on.
Sometimes you can say something like ‘nice post’ ‘good read’ but only when you are in hurry.
Do not comment such thing which can make blog owner angry otherwise your comment will be deleted like an unborn child.
If you are leaving a comment to get instant traffic, write something better, other readers will visit your blog.
Mostly leave your comments on popular blogs, which are getting massive traffic everyday.
If you leave your comment on less popular blog it also works if your comment is good, because if no other reader visit to your blog; blog owner surely visit your blog.
