Textme should be inspired by free SMS sending sites because I think it uses same technologies as SMS gateway for allowing free SMS feature. So Textme is not another free SMS sending site in India. It works only in India. Using Textme you can send text, video, picture and link to any mobile number in India if that number is not in DND database. Text me is a browse based SMS.

You should be thinking how one can make use of it; you can send any text or link, or picture or video from any website as a news headline, tweet, Facebook status, or content from Wikipedia. There are many uses of this service as you cans end address, current status etc. In a nutshell it is a web to mobile sharing service.

The service is useful because it is easy to use. As we know it is browser-based service, so you can installed it in your favorite browser as Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera or Safari. A browser button will be added in top right corner of the browser.

To use this service after installing in a browser, you need to register a mobile number with the service, an email address and a simple password. A SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number with a verification code. Your mobile number will be used your sender ID.

How to use Textme?
After installing and signup you can select any picture, video, text or link in any website that is opened in your browser and click on the Textme sharing button that is installed in top-right corner of browser, a new tab will open where you can add a mobile number and send it to the same number. After, your message is sent you can use back button on that page to send the same content to different mobile number.

For publishers Textme is available as a sharing button. It is like Twitter sharing button.

Update:
You can send any web page content on your mobile number whether it is DND enabled or not.
It also get integrates with shared pictures on Facebook and let you send any picture as SMS.
