Map search is not so useful but if you search for a place you will get expected results.

If a book is written about the subject or query you are searching you will get results from Google book search.

If you click on updates you will see latest results or real time results from Google but for this more popular query is useful

or any hot topic that is hot now.

Discussions will show you results from Q&A sites and forums.

PC is from India and I am searching from India show it is suggesting to get results from India or only India.

There is a good time frame as past hour, past 24 hours, past week ,month and year, and you can set custom time frame.

You can see all options above Google shows you for your queries and suggestions can be varied for different queries.
