Twitter is a powerful news source we know; there is nothing new in this headline but wait a minute if you do not know how to use Twitter as a news source then you cannot profit it.
I have seen many people use Twitter for effective communication and breaking news and information related to any subject.
Most of tweets we get on Twitter 99.99% are useless. You get every day thousands of new Tweets and looking for quality content that is also worthless. So what you can do?
Who need news?
News is not for everyone it is for him only who is looking for it otherwise any news is useless by itself. So first you have to decide what kind of news you are looking for?
If you are following 10 K people and 9K people following you back and looking for useful news is really not. If you follow back that follows you it is good for getting followers but not good for news.
So what you can do?
I do not want to make this article longer with my ridicules writing but following only important notes.
If you are looking for quality and content do not care for followers only look for sources that can give you news. This is possible by two ways.
(1) Some of high news sources that only post from their blogs like @techcrunch, @mashable @lifehacker, @makeuseof @RWW, @sitepoint, @labnol; these some of my faves and related to social media and technology, there are so many sources you can follow them. You have to find out them.
(2) Some of famous or non famous social media people like @anildash, @scobleizer, @louisgray, @ginatrapni, @mattcutts, they do not just post their own blog posts but also share stuffs from different sources. There are so many good people to find and follow.
You have to decide what you are looking for on Twitter; based on your interest and filed you can find and follow interesting people.

I usually follow my friends and some celebrities that I really look up to on twitter and some news sites and some SEO Sites, and I think I can do number 2,because I can use this to share information even though my Twitter account is for personal use only.
That's nice.
