If you have a self hosted WordPress blog and you are serious about your visitor’s statistics, I hope you should have created an account in Google analytics. Or if you have not created then you can create it. But you would be thinking how to do it because there is no easy way to add analytics code to your WordPress blog. If you have a static HTML site then Google provide simple method but for WordPress you would e looking for an idea.
Well I have found an idea and using it for some time.

Steps are simple just go and create a profile in Google analytics using your existing Google account. If you do not know how reach at Google analytics, just Google it. And follow the steps you see finally they will give you a code to insert in each page of your site. Here you will be worry. But you do not have to because there is a simple WordPress plugin that do rest of the things only you have install it and configure it. When you create a profile in analytics account they will give you an id for that profile that is important for you because it needs to configure analytics for your site.

How to get this plugin?
Just go to admin panel of your blog and navigate to plugins and click on add new and in search box search for “Google Analyticator” it is exact name click on install button which is just right side.

After installing this plugin just go to settings to configure it there if you do not want to bring your analytics data to your wordpress blog you should only add profile ID of site you created in analytics account. Profile ID looks something like UA-12501220-2. But if you want to you analytics data in dashboard just click on authorize button to authorize your blog with your Google analytics account.

When you are done just go to dashboard and you will see Google analytics summary like this.

I remember installing Google Analytics on Stop Vodafone which is a wordpress site. The right file where the analytics tracking code needs to be embedded is not to hard to find for someone who knows what to look for. Stil, I suppose it's practical for one who is not used to work with source codes to have an alternative in the form of a plug in available. For the same reason an audiovisual demonstration of installing google analytics might be useful too.
