Tags are one of the most important elements of the modern blogging. Tags are known as “labels” in Blogger. These tags are known as Keywords in static web sites.

Tags are a simplified form of categories because categories are more important than tags and they cover wide area of subject and tags are for a specific topic.
So choosing right tags is very important because it can give your posts more visibility. Tags are considered more important than categories in Google like search engines. If you search in Google you will you find your posts are listed in results and tags are also listed in results but you will not find categories.

You can use more than one tag for your blog post and choosing so many tags is not a wise decision because it won’t help you.

Many times you should be getting conflict in WordPress for choosing tags and categories as I have some categories that are tags also. This is not a problem you can convert your categories into tags.

Tags should not very long or it should not be containing a more than three words for SEO benefit. And there is a saying “Small is beautiful”, I think it is true for tags also.

When we choose a tag we make mistake of higher or lowercase so we have to follow a single rule: all letters should be in lower cause or only first letter should be in higher cause.

As we know Twitter is social networking and microblogging site so if I write a post on how to manage Twitter follower? I will choose categories for this post Social Media, How to and Tips; and tags I will choose Twitter, microblogging, followers, manage, manage followers etc.

In above example I have chosen five tags, all tags are not necessary but first second and last are right choice.
