These days a new website named Pinterest.com is hugely popular between Americans, and it is one of the top website of the web. Website is not so old, the domain was registered on 26 November 2009. It was launched in march 2010. But seeing its unstoppable growth it seems a Juggernaut.

If something goes popular there are no specific reasons for it however design and features are killer. At first it looks like a visual bookmarking service like new delicious.com. But what people are doing here? They are simply doing what they do on Flickr. So it is an online photo sharing site. You can upload your photos to share online on Pinterest but most of the photos are shared likes, repin and following that are already uploaded.

If you are a member you can like ant shared item as you like it on Facebook, you can repin any item as you retweet on Twitter, you also can comment on any item. However you can add a pin using a URL of picture or video or it is simply upload via URL. You can direct upload a pin as a picture.

So if you want to add a pin you can pin any picture you like (adult content not allowed) as women, nature, food adventures, clothes, accessories, gadgets, life style etc.

Pinterest has no direct signup, so you need to request an invite or you can get an invite by any of your friend he she is on Pinterest, you can comment on any item. Users can create their own boards and let users follow your board, you need to keep updated your board with interesting stuff.

It has a section for videos as well and all the videos are cool and interesting.

For specific interest you can browse categories. You also can start a good discussion on Pins.

Pinterest also has a gift section in different range as 1 to 20 dollars, 20 dollars to 50 dollars and above 500 dollars. You can send a gift to someone as a book, bracelet, clothes, watches, toys etc, via etsy like shopping sites.

If you are a website owner you can add pinit button so users can share your interesting items on Pinterest.

Following the model of Mr. Barack Obama but lately Mr. Manmohan Singh who also happens to our Prime Minister. He is finally on Twitter. You can follow on https://twitter.com/#!/pmoindia.

What could be the reason of his late arrival it is still unclear. The step he took he should have taken at least one year ago but lately he has joined the crew. He has already got 12,000 followers but he is following zero. Obviously there is no one whom he can follow. He is using his bio as “Official Twitter account of the Prime Minister’s office, New Delhi.” He is also using official website of prime minister of India. However it is not clear account is real or fake because he has no verified badge from Twitter.

I can’t say this game will be as popular as Angry Anna but the reasons behind developing this game there are two reason: one is promoting shaadi.com and the other is spreading awareness against dowry system in India. Simply when you lay the game you beat the grooms who ask for dowry. Grooms are really active so it is not easy to always hit them.

Indian Government Wants to Censor User Generated Social Media Content

This is sad, this is not possible but true. It seems Kapil Sibal is front facing drama queen in this matter however he may be puppet, behind the scenes someone else may be directing him.

But what if it happened. Kapib Sibal is talking with Google and Facebook officials because these two are major social media players.

As NYT reported, Indian government want to screen all the user submitted data before it goes public and if it is objectionable it should be removed.

But every where if you read comment you will see Government is talking about contents that are against government or its key players.

Ultimately it seems impossible to screen all use generated data because it is in huge quantity.

Friendly is a website for questions and answers. I wonder I was unaware of this service but when I visited this service I liked this service. Recently Facebook acquired this service but this service will be remaining. As now it is a Facebook property so need to signup for this service via Facebook. You can questions and answer questions. But this is not a Quora like site it is just a fun site to hangout with friends. You can rate answers. You also can share your answers and questions on twitter and Facebook.
