I am not the writer of this eBook, I am just a compiler of my own written posts. I have published many articles on Blogging but unfortunately Google never attracted to any of Blogging related articles. So I never got traffic from Google for my blogging articles.

These articles were not published on TechShali but on my other two blogs; MadhavTripathi.com and makemonyeonlinemmo.com, the first blog is now personal or extra personal blog so it is for personal stuff. The other blog is no more in development.

You will find many spelling and grammar mistakes so I don’t think native speakers, or scholars will like this eBook.

The name of the eBook is “On Blogging & Online Money Making”, most of the articles are about blogging and online money-making. The eBook is not a complete material and does not presents contents in A to Z way. There are total 61 chapters in this book and 50 pages in total. I have uploaded this book on Scribd. Tip: How to Get Better Preview in Windows Live Writer

Windows_Live_Writer is my favorite blog editor and I compose my all the posts using Windows Live Writer. If you also use WLW for blog posting and if you like Theme interface (Why WLW?) you may want to see post preview. Post preview is same as it can be in a live site f you have updated blog theme in WLW. But sometimes results can not be fine.

Suppose you want to show 10 posts on WordPress hosted blog’s home page with excerpt. It is very good decision but it may not be good in WLW if you preview the post. But here is a fix. Any setting you have made on your WP blog that is but to get exact preview of your post in WLW you can sue following steps.

In WordPress control panel in settings section click on Reading set 1 for Blog Pages show at most and save the option. Now go to WLW blog account section on top navi there click on update Theme, it will ask to download theme and generate a temporary post, allow it. When your theme is updated in WLW you will see same interface of your live blog in preview section.

If you are using These theme this problem can be for sure, for this you have to go to Design option of Thesis section ion control panel. In design options look for display options expand that and click display full excerpt, and navigate to home page display option click on Features & teasers select 1 and save. And go to update theme in WLW. Before taking this option you have to follow above paragraph.

When theme is updated you can get back to your previous setting making changing them again.

Effective use of blog commenting for SEO

Blogs are the new form of media that beats magazines and journals. However, more importantly, they are a very crucial tool for marketing advertisers as well as companies. When you own a blog, you have a single most important aim and that is to build your blog traffic. SEO techniques are one of the main things that contribute in this regard. Blog commenting is a huge part of SEO but only when used to the maximum advantage. Here are some tips to do it effectively.

Comment to build up conversation threads

This is the finest way of bringing attention towards your blog. Subscribe for threads and start up a conversation in your comments. It is obviously better if the conversation is related to your niche and even better if you are in the thread of some blog belonging to your niche. However, this is not mandatory. The idea is simply to arouse interest and fascination in your blog backlink.

Comment more on blogs in your niche

Commenting on blogs belonging to your particular niche, makes more sense. This will attract the attention of readers who are already interested in the niche. Make sure to list all the blogs in your niche that you find interesting and up to date. Then make it a point to post significant comments on these blogs to build up backlink response to your blog.

Don’t post generalized comments

This is a no-brainer but still needs mention. In any case, do not post nonsensical or vague general comments. These comments do not attract much traffic. In fact they can cost the reputation of your blog if you post such comments in too many blogs. For proper backlink exposure, it is necessary that you give your comment the same consideration as any content designed to attract blog traffic.

Strategize your commenting procedure through RSS readers

Just using plain browser bookmarks to access interesting blogs to comment can leave you with poor results. It is important to have a proper strategy and plan to choose proper blogs that you should comment on. Use RSS readers like Google Reader etc. for this purpose. It can be your regular thing. Just browse on the RSS reader to get updated results of quality blogs with follow links. Be a part of their RSS feed, start commenting and increase exposure to your own blog. I also add Google Reader browser extensions that show the number of unread feed items un-obstructively at the corner of my browser.

Range in on blogs that have significant backlinks

Blogs that already have a significant amount of backlinks are positively the best place to start your comments and backlink building. So, be on the lookout for this telltale sign when you choosing blogs to comment on.

Five comments a day – Definitely

The five comments a day rule will help you get results much faster. You have to be committed to SEO before you can reap the rewards. In this case, five comments a day is a tall order. You will have to gear up a big RSS feed. You can not comment on a single blog more than once in the same day but the comments will enhance your Technocrati profile at the end of the day and build your readership exponentially. Comments might seem slight but they are a definite and effective part of SEO for your blog, so don’t let up a chance on using them to the fullest.

Why Scrapers Rank Higher?

Google Panda update was a reason to join party for some bloggers and for some bloggers it was a reason to cancel the party. But panda update is controversial because many of original content writer thrown below the scrapers. It is not easy to decide who is original writer and who is not because all the bloggers who have in minus for them it is tough time.

But we can see some posts that are easily recognizable who is original and who is scraper still scraper is ranking high and original is out of rank or it is in bottom of pile of all the scrapers.

This is something painful for original writers so I can’t say they are wrong. But Google’s Panda update is not real Panda it is just an algorithm and one can get high rank if one qualifies some of the optimizations and reputations.

It is my little effort to study and write an article on this subject why scrapers rank higher than original?

You are original because you wrote this first. This is only one thing in your favor and other things are going to scrapper’s favor, in this situation he may rank high.

If you search for “85 Killer Blogging Tips” (here) then scraper will be on first place and original will come after in Google result. Original article is written by Harsh Agrawal on Shoutmeloud that is on second and scraper is on Posterous, he is on top.

If you visit both posts you will come to know why he is on top and original on second.

Website reputation
Posterous is a big site where thousands of daily new posts are getting published including many type of contents. That has higher page rank. higher Alexa rank, more quality backlinks.

Page Speed
If you compare both websites page load speed scrapers page loads faster than original because it not has any sidebar and advertisement and only one image. It is also not footer rich.

Useless Comments
Comments are good but sometimes they can be bad and can increase your page loading time because comment has an Avatar. And comments are outside of 85 Killer tips.

Extra Link
The original page has many links that are related or popular posts it is also a reason.

The Purpose
The original writer has some purpose as getting conversation, monetizing content but the scraper is just sharing content.

So if a scrapper is ranking higher so some of above reason can be a case.

Why I do Not Accept Guest Posts?

Every bloggers aim is to get guest posts. There are plenty of benefits of guest posts. If you get guest post as a blog owner this mean you are an influencer. You can motivate others, people trust in you and you have a popular blog, and other bloggers will write for you for free because they will get backlink and free promotion. So guest author and blog owner both are in win win situation.

I am not in opposition of guest author or posts, I also like if anyone will like to write for my blog as a guest author. And I have some guest posts as well. But those posts are not from bloggers, those authors are representative of companies or they do SEO and promotion work for such companies. In any case they are going to paid as an individual or contractor or an employee. These kind of authors use their own links in their posts and use different byline in different articles. Most of the posts are promotion and SEO (linkbait) for websites they work for. I think these posts are not going to help me or you as a blog owner. These posts have poor quality and unrelated topics. These authors can not understand audience of a website. In more these posts can not bring traffic from search engines and sometimes can harm your rank and reputation.

So now I accept guest posts only from bloggers who are already blogging and have their own blog. But unfortunately I did get any post from a blogger that is interested to write.

If you remember Amit Agrawal of Labnol, he also invite guest authors but I never find any guest post on Labnol. What could be the reason for it? No one is interested to write for Digital Inspiration or not any post got approval from Amit Agrawal.

Old Ideas of Marketing That won’t work

I have seen many bloggers and marketers use some of old ideas of promotion that really not going to help them any more. In more I think it is cheating.

(1) As seen on CNN, MSNBC, Wall street Journal etc.
You will see many bloggers specially marketers and affiliate promoters use this idea. You will see banners of top news websites, they want to say they are featured in those top sites but that sucks. I think if you are real you must have links where you are featured. If you say I am featured on CNN, give the link where you are featured.

(2) Read My Story
Many of top bloggers has section that is probably about me section. But I have many of new bloggers that are not established yet they also has a section read my story, they are sharing their success story. They will tell how “I worked hard and become successful and now earning daily thousands of dollars. But I think are they successful?

(3) How I make $10000K per month?
Many of bloggers will publish stuff like this, they use fake AdSense revenue (here).

(4) My daily visit is 100K
A blogger has 500K Alexa rank you can guess how visit he will be receiving daily but he will say this website get daily 100K hits.

How to Fresh Start Your New Year (2011)

2010 was very good year for me or in other meaning it was the only good year for me. Because I started making money in 2010 and have my own business and become my own boss in 2010. So in 2011 I have to keep continue the things and take them to next level. You are free to skip these tips that I am going to tell because that are not based on my own experience but for your surprise tips are from Matt Cutts.

(1) Start it by emptying your inbox. You can read how to empty your inbox here. You will feel a fresh start, a new inbox for new year. You can assign a label for everything and archive all mail and empty your inbox.

(2) Take off from twitter and stop using it a week or one month for digital cleaning because it is a good way to fill your time, if you want to fill five minutes you will fill 35 minutes. However you can read additional tips here. And don’t forget to take off from Facebook too because that is greater label disaster.

(3) Think what you want from this year or what are your goals for 2011. Try to get expertise in other words it will give you some new opportunities.

(4) If possible take a trip for cities and if possible look for out of country.

New Spam Bots Are Smart

New Spam bots are really smart. We know spam bots are not a real person. If there is not spam protection you will get so many spam comments on your posts. Thanks to WordPress it is capable to block spam comments and ban IP address.

There was a time when spam bots were sending xyz characters in spam comments but new spam bots are smart they can use different IP address and WordPress.com, Livejournal, Tumbler blogs as their website name in website name field. They uses Gmail for email address. New spam bots can read keywords in your posts and they use in comments. They can use your post title and blog name in comments. They can use the name based on email ID.

But a spam is spam you can find it easily.
There is no visit in Google analytic but daily nice comments I am getting on my new blog.
Sometimes a spam bot uses same IP for leaving different comments using different email ID, different name and different website but same IP.
