One of the best part of a blog is its categories section, where anyone can easily select where he should go because here he can decide what he likes, because a blog can have many kind of posts and many kind of categories so for one person all stuff would never be a good choice if he want to surf your blog, but as I am observing and cheking highly popular websites among readers for technology and social media news they have no interest in defining categories for posts.
A category still has importance for a post but for small bloggers, new bloggers or for average bloggers but not for big blogs or bloggers. Simply you can say for them categories takes useful space to make that useless.
Here I am sampling few blogs to show which weblogs do not use categories here I am not going to showcash a long wish list of URLs.
Actually these blog owners has removed categories from base.
(1) TechCrunch:
TechCrunch is founded by Michael Arrington it is one of most readable blog for tech geeks and having very large readrship, TechCrunch produces average of 24 posts in 24 hours and there is no category defined for any post I think they do not think there is any importance of categories for them.
TechCrunch covers mostly tech news, sosial media news, new startups, reviews etc and much more.

(2) Mashable:
Actually what is the meaning of Mashable I don’t know perheps Pete Cashmore know it who is the founder of Mashable, Mashable has a large leadership mostly covers or extra covers social media news and social media guide but some times they do it too much as they are doing with Twitter. and here is a fight between TechCrunch and Mashable. To help you they use stylish lists as Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and few more mostly what is hot that is in list.

(3) Read Write Web:
RWW founded by Richard MacManus this weblog mostly talking about semantic web and social media tech news, this weblog does not have large readership like TechCrunch or Mashable but a very good blog every stuff in easy language and do not trying to dipping into competition. One more thing my favorite writer Sarah Perez is a writer of RWW.
