These days lot of people are talking so much about hashtags, so again many peoples are asking about hashtags. Any word that begin with a “#” is hashtag and about which hashtags we are talking that are twitter’s trending topics. There is a hashtags.org website also that indicates twitter’s top trending topics and there you can find any hashtag if it is in existence.

What happen to Twitter’s trending topics? Thats are fine only peoples are rethinking about their reliability because of few topics that are unsuitable for Twitte’s impression (that are possibly attacking attempts on Twitter) has been listed in Top trending topics.

In this article I want to provide info on how to use hashtags? And how hashtags work?

As you know hashtags are Twitter’s trending topics means any topic which is hot that is in trend, these trending topics you can easily see on Twiter’s homepage if you are logged in. Any keyword you search for, Twitter first look for those words that are with a “#”.

How hastag works?
Hashtags make your search easy and powerful, people talk about a specific topic and that topic has a hashtag or they relate it with a hashtag so if you search for a topic, then any latest conversation you can find which indicate that hashtag or related to your search, Twitter indicates all results with or without hashtags.

When people use hashtags?
IF anyone on Twitter want to start a topic and if he is familiar with hashtags he will start a topic and that topic will be tagged with a hashtag(#hashtag), then first of first his/her friends will see and they will start chatting about that topic and their tweets will contain that topic which his/her friend started recently. Sometimes there can be more than one topic with hashtag on a single subject, remember when gmail was temporary out of service then people used these hashtags for a single subject. #gfail, #googlefail, #gmailfail etc. Sometimes hashtags automatically get started as #iranelection( not absolute automatically)

How you can use a hashtag?
This is I think you are waiting for if I am right, starting a hashtag(aka topic) is not always a good idea, hashtags has its important so they should be start for only topic and for me topic should be really a topic not your food, and topic should be meaningful that can describe your subject on you are starting a topic, so people easily can understand what you want to say or spread. When you start a topic simply say in your tweet you are starting this topic on this subject and please support it or spread it and in the last indicate name of your topic(#topicname), that’s it.

Don’t you think this will start getting abused and defeat the purpose! I see many people using the hash now for silly things I think eventually it will ruin the search results and you will have a bunch of everything everywhere. But again if they are indicating all search results with hashtags. Maybe that won’t be an issue after all.

I tried it a few times its pretty cool.
