What is a web browser?
A web browser is a software application which presents the information of World Wide Web (WWW). And you get the information from the uniform resource identifier (URI). A web page contains text, graphics, videos etc, if you click on some text and if that text opens a new page that text is hyper link.
Web browsers have an old history. I am not going in its history only going to tell about favorite browsers of present time. As Netscape navigator was most famous in its time but now it is nowhere.
Firefox
Firefox is from Mozilla foundation. Firefox 3.6 is latest and stable version. Firefox is my favorite and most famous web browser at this time. And it is most improved web browser and one of the fastest. I stated Mozilla Firefox 2 to use and from then I am using this browser. It is fully customizable. Add-ons feature is one of the great features which make it my favorite. It is free to download and use. It is one of the most secure web browsers.

Internet Explorer 8
Internet Explorer is from Microsoft. Internet Explorer 8 is latest version of IE. It is one of top and compatible with other top browsers. It is a component of windows means it comes pre-installed with windows7. IE8 is best in IE series and better than older versions of Internet Explorer. It is also free to download and use.
Chrome is from Google. It is new but getting famous. It is one of top and promising web browser and simple one. It is controversial also because if one good web browser is in the market and doing well then there is no need of other one. But Google says they are willing to give more security for their services so they have launched their own browser. It is also free to use. Chrome already get updated when new version is ready.
Safari
Safari is from Apple. It also come pre-installed with Mac OS. And have an exciting look and different browsing experience. I’s latest version is really nice. Safari 4 is latest. It is also free to use.
Opera
Opera web browser is one of good and struggling web browser. It is struggling because it fast and safer and feature rich but still do not have good market share. It is very different from other browsers. It really gives a better browsing experience. Opera 10.10 is latest release.

It is also one of famous, I have not tested it yet, but it has been downloaded over 346,225,110 times. It is also free. It also has god and competitive features.
