If you blog and use self hosted WordPress platform for it that is very good. You can run a blog for any purpose as a personal blog or a company blog but if you run your blog for online money making with your blog then you should consider using some of features of WordPress to make it more accessible more users friendly. In this post you will learn how you can make your WordPress blog user friendly.

If a visitor visited one of your posts thru a search engine and he left your blog without reading any other blog this will be called 100% bounce rate. So you should always try to reduce bounce rate because if your blog has higher bounce rate this mean visitors do not like your posts and they hardly visit it again.

(1) Tags
Many bloggers do not show tags in sidebar or at the end of posts. Tags are known as labels in blogger but in WordPress tags are tags you can tag posts, as you write a post about twitter you can tag it with twitter. WordPress let you put popular tags as a widget in sidebar. Many themes let you show tags at the end of post. If you keep tags widget in sidebar your readers are likely to be clicking any of tag to view its posts. If you show tags at the end of posts some of visitors will click on tags to search more posts related to same tag.

(2) Categories
Categories cover more wide range of topics as you can create a category for social media; now Twitter and Facebook these are social media sites, a Facebook related post will be tagged as Facebook and twitter related posts will be tagged as twitter but all posts that are related to Twitter and Facebook they will come under social media category. You can use categories widget to make your blog more users friendly and it can help you to reduce your bounce rate.

(3) Archives
Archives contains posts that are posted by month. You should put this widget in sidebar so if any user want to browse your blog’s archive. This also will help you to get more page views.

(4) Search box
If a user want to search something on your blog it should be able to search it, default WordPress search is not so good you can use custom Google search engine.

(5) Related Posts
This element is not core element of WordPress but it is must having this for any blog form my opinion and if the related posts are based on title that will be more fine. Related posts are more useful if you they will be shown at the end of post.

(6) Popular posts
popular posts are not good to put in sidebar as a widget because a large blog can have so many popular posts so I have created a category for popular posts. After publishing a post it gets daily many visitors from search engines I add it in popular posts category.

(7) Recent Posts
After related posts recent posts are also very useful for more page views; you can put a widget of related posts in sidebar.

(8) Random Posts
This is also important as recent posts you can put it in sidebar.
