Adobe is parent of PDF file format. PDF file format is de-facto standard in online file sharing, but there is something that people do not like it or hate it is Adobe’s monopoly of monetizing PDF. As we know how important PDF is so it should be free or cheap but Adobe provides only reader for PDF in no cost. If you want to create or edit PDF files you have to purchase Adobe acrobat, so Adobe reader is free yet many people do not like to use it.

I think it is always good to know alternatives to anything even if the one you are using is trusted and used by a lot of people. There are times that the most famous is not the most effective. We must keep that in mind.
I tried some of these (with good advertising) and found that PDF-XChange is the best for my work. It has very nice and intelligible interface, it is very easy and fast. I looked for such viewer and now I’m happy to work with it. PDF-XChange is another Adobe-alternative in today’s that outpaces the basic functionality of Adobe Reader. With PDF-XChange I open and browse PDF documents, perform simple page annotations with drawings and text, and type outside of preset form boxes by using the PDF-XChange typewriter tool to place text wherever you want. Lots of features (90%) are free. Advanced features like reorganizing pages and text extraction are only available with the Pro upgrade. The Professional features are also available in the free version, but documents are saved with a watermark until it is registered. PDF-XChange is available as a portable application. I like this, because I can open my pdf-files in different computers without any problems.
