10 Websites For Online Document Sharing

One of my favorite activity is online book reading, I read so many books, my choice is vary, I know three languages (1) Hindi- my mother tongue (2) English – necessary for everyone (3) Gujarati- Language of the state where I am living right now. Mostly I read English books and documents because most of important information is available only in English.

On the web there are hundreds of websites for file and document sharing and many websites for online collaboration but in this post I am going to discuss about document sharing sites.

Here is a list of 10 websites where you can upload/download documents and and share with others. Some of websites are my favorite which I will not share but you can share with me in comments so I will reply in comments.

(1) Scribd

Scribd is largest website on the web for any type of document sharing with more than 50 thousand documents uploaded daily, here you can search and download any type of documents. Most of documents are in PDF format. Recently Scribd has redesigned its look and added some more features so you can follow or unfollow peoples, send direct messages and you can say what are you doing. For document viewing Scribd uses iPaper format. On Srcribd store you can buy and sell documents.You can embed Scribd files to your website.

(2) Docstoc

Docstoc is for professional documents, you can find almost any kind of documents related to legal, business, education, finance, jobs, careers and real estate. On Docstoc you can upload your documents and download available documents. You cam make money on Docstoc by Google adsense.
You can embed Docstoc files to your website.
Founded November, 2007.

(3) Slideshare

Slideshare is for presentations sharing, you can create presentations, companies or people can open their account and upload powerpoint, PDF or Open Office documents, you can browse slideshare by categories and share your presentations privately or publicly.

(4) Issuu

Issuu is for online publication, you can publish magazines, documents so you can become a publisher in a few minuets.

(5) Slideboom

Slideboom is for high quality powerpoint presentations sharing. Slieboom is is also for legal and business documents. You can creat web ready powerpoint presentations and embed them to your blog or websites, collect feedback from presentation viewers.

Docshare is a new way to share documents online. On this website everything is document, share documents with friends and colleagues, upload documents, give kudos.

Yuda is all about reading, publishing and sharing, you can become become a publisher. Download/upload and share your documents. When you want you can go pro.

You can create a free account in Calameo and start uploading your documents, share interesting documents on blogs and websites. You can upgrade anytime your account to platinum or premium.

Thanks for these sources! Some I never knew were even out there. I assume these aren’t ranked in any particular order? On my blog I try to create good suggestions too, but I think this is a good topic.

It's always worth checking out http://www.glasscubes.com for file sharing too. We tried it out about 4 months ago and haven't looked back! So easy. Also quite like Scribd at the top of the list when we tried that, but stuck with Glasscubes because of the simplicity.
