You should be thinking how I dare to give tips to get more comments on blog posts. You are right technically but I can give some nice tips that will help you definitely. I like to get comments but I am not hungered for them and do not anything to get more comments on my posts except replying them.
If you do not get comments there can be some reasons perhaps you do not write what people like to read. You do not have a niche or you are a new born blogger. Anyway read these simple tips to get more comments on your each blog posts.
Why more comments are necessary and useful?
Getting more comments on your posts is a sign that you are growing, you write good posts and you have a good readership. And reader takes it as an opportunity to leave a coment on your posts. If you are getting mote comments this mean you’re getting good traffic and also this can help you to get more subscribers.
(1) Reply your comments
If you get a comment reply that, it is good idea to get comments because if you reply your comments you are interested in communication and treat your readers well.
(2) Install CommentLuv plugin
You can download it here. This plugin can help you to get more comments because it let Commentator show his last blog post below his comment if he entered his website name in website field. This way if a Commentator is a blogger he can get some traffic from your blog. So he would like to leave a comment on your posts.
(3) Place a recent comments widget in Sidebar
Recent comments widget is a built in feature of WordPress so you do not have to install any plugin. If you keep recent comments widget in sidebar that widget will show the name of recent Commentator, this way commentator get some promotion on your blog and he will like to leave a comment on your blog.
(4) Place a Top Commentators widget in sidebar
You can download top Commentators plugin here. This is a successful idea for getting more comments on your posts. If you place this widget top Commentators will be on top with website link. You can set top 10 Commentator in that widget, so many Commentator will like to get in top 10 and this way you will get more comments ion your each blog posts.
(5) Make your comments dofollow
You can download dofollow my blog plugin here. This is one of proven idea of getting more comments but most of bloggers do not do it because comments are nofollow by default. When a Commentator leave a comment on a dofollow blog his link in comment does not become dofollow but if he has enters his website name in website field that will become dofollow backlink. Do not forget to tell your readers that your blog is a dofollow blog.
(6) Leave comments on other blogs
This is the best idea to get more comments because this is real communication and reciprocation. If you leave comments on top blogs they will never come to leave a comment on your blog but they can reply sometime. So find blogs that publish posts on similar subject and have same ranking. If a blogger leave a comment on your blog and in return if you leave a comment on his blog, this way you will make your own network.

(9) Do not close comments on older posts
Many bloggers close comments that are older than 90 days or 60 days. If you do not close comments on old posts this can create some problems as you will get comments on those posts that are already loaded with so many comments. So to solve this problem you can close comments on individual posts.
(10) Give more options to your readers to leave comments on your blog
If you let your readers to leave a comment without providing their name and email you will get many comments but you would get so many abusing comments, so you may not do this, but you can let your visitors leave a comment using Facebook connect, Twitter login, WordPress ID or Open ID. So if they not want to provide their email address they can leave a comment using their social identities.
